Privacy notice
Last updated: [date]
WrenchMatch ("we", "us") matches customers in Hertfordshire with vetted local garages. This notice explains what personal information we collect when you contact us — by phone, WhatsApp, our contact form, or our chat assistant — and what we do with it.
What we collect
When you get in touch, we typically collect:
- Your name and phone number
- Your vehicle's make, model, and approximate age
- A description of the problem with your vehicle
- Your general location or postcode
- Optionally, your budget expectation and MOT status, if you share them
We don't collect payment details — you pay the garage directly, not us.
Why we collect it
We use this information for one purpose: to match you with a suitable local garage and pass your enquiry to them so they can help with your car. We don't use it for anything else.
Who we share it with
We don't sell your information, and we don't share it with anyone outside of matching you to a garage, except where we're required to by law.
Our chat assistant
If you use our online chat assistant to describe your car problem, your messages are processed by Anthropic (the company behind the Claude AI model) to help carry the conversation and generate a summary for us. This works the same way as if you'd typed the details into a form — it's used only to gather your enquiry, not for any other purpose.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry details for as long as needed to complete the match and resolve any follow-up questions, and then delete them within a reasonable period — typically no more than 12 months, unless you ask us to delete it sooner.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you can ask us to:
- Tell you what information we hold about you
- Correct anything that's inaccurate
- Delete your information, where we don't have a legal reason to keep it
To do any of this, just email us at info@wrenchmatch.uk.
